My daughter called it "Thinky." Every time I look at the framed watercolor hanging on the wall, I still wonder what it is. Is it a blue ghost with a lightbulb over its head? Is it a third grader's interpretation of a shadow? Is it a symbol of the ambiguity of learning? I should ask her what it "Thinky" is, I always tell myself.
But then I never ask. After all, what would be the fun in knowing?
My daughter's creativity created Thinky. But it's mine that gets to decide what it is.
